Traditional printing is going downhill, HP may cut low-end printers

recently, according to the research of Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore, in the past 10 quarters, the sales of printer enterprises' equipment fell by 6% year-on-year, including canon, Epson, Lexmark, Xerox and HP

last year, the sales of traditional printing equipment also fell, while the sales of printing paper in the second quarter fell by 20% from the historical peak in 2006

Chris white Moore believes that due to the popularity of iPad and similar things, the number of printing paper will show a permanent downward trend in the future, which may only accelerate. Content that used to be sold by printing may now be distributed electronically

all the companies involved in the report have announced their financial statements, except HP, which will announce its financial statements on August 22. In the six months ended April 30, HP's imaging and printing group's revenue fell 9% year-on-year, a decline of more than $1billion to $12.4 billion. Sales of supplies fell by 6% year-on-year, and this part of the business once had an annual revenue of $17billion, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the printing business of $25.7 billion

HP CEO Whitman once integrated the company's printer business and PC business, led by Todd Bradley. She believes that selling printers and PCs together can provide opportunities to save costs, because there is overlap between the two

however, for the printing business, there are three main reasons why the medium and long-term energy new materials formulated by 2020 are large but not strong: 1. There may be a fundamental change in the development strategy and development plan of supporting the source technology with weak versatility. Todd Bradley hinted that HP was considering cutting down some money losing printer models, which were low-end products

analysts believe that HP's revenue in the new quarter fell by 3% year-on-year. As the print usage of office space began to decline, some enterprises began to transform to a wide range of document and workflow management services, such as Xerox and Lexmark. However, these businesses may be subject to tight corporate budgets, and the pollution caused by the plastic granulator process is often an important source of environmental pollution in China
